IAMRUNBOX is proud to welcome Lua Stifani and Zara Jaffrey to our global brand ambassador program.
Lua is a Teaching Assistant from Hammersmith in London. British born to Italian parents, Lua first got into running some 7 years ago when he turned 30 and found that he was not happy with the overall state of his health. In a bid to improve his fitness levels, he re-joined his local gym and found himself a personal trainer.
It was Lua’s PT who introduced him to the treadmill, and he hasn’t looked back since. While he admits that he hated the treadmill at first, it didn’t take long for his 100m runs to become 10km runs, and he now competes regularly in half-marathons, marathons, duathlons and triathlons with his fiancé and training partner, Zara.
Zara is a Secondary Drama Teacher in Hammersmith, London. A self-confessed running enthusiast, Zara started running in 2012 after watching the Chester half-marathon, which inspired her to register for her first major running challenge, the Paris Marathon. Shortly afterwards, she invested in a road bike and decided she would compete in the London to Brighton Bike Ride too, which she entered just a few weeks before the event was due to take place.
Zara met Lua while training for the Paris Marathon, and the two have been inseparable ever since. As Lua is also a keen runner, they spend much of their free time participating in 5kms, 10kms, half marathons, duathlons, triathlons and marathons across the country and Europe, although Zara admits they do it more to enjoy the fun atmosphere and to raise money for charity, rather than as serous competitors.
Since they started running together, Zara and Lua have completed more than 30 half-marathons and over 120 charity events, and they have no plans to slow down anytime soon. To maintain her active lifestyle, Zara runs up and down the Thames several times a week, runs with her local running club Runthrough on Monday evenings, and cycles in Richmond Park at the weekends.
