IAMRUNBOX: Stepping into Spring at the Escape to Trail Charity Run
The birds are singing, the sun is shining, the daffodils are blooming, and the temperatures are slowly but surely rising, and that can only mean one thing… spring 2017 has finally arrived in the northern hemisphere!
A favourite time of the year for active lifestyle practitioners and those who love the great outdoors, spring is the perfect season for run commuting, cycling to work, and training for an upcoming marathon or ironman competition, and with a jam-packed calendar of running and sporting events to look forward to over the next six months, we can all aim to make 2017 our best, and most active year yet!
Escape to Trail 2017
Talking of sporting events, IAMRUNBOX recently sponsored the Escape to Trail Charity Trail Run, which is a fabulous 16.8-mile event along the iconic ‘New River Path’ from Enfield to Hertford in the picturesque countryside that surrounds greater London.
Described by its organisers as “an event, not a race”, the Escape to Trail is a fun run where one can meet other runners, get in some much-needed training after a long cold winter, and support a great charity cause such as the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
Situated just a short hop from central London (a 30-minute train ride), it is perfect for city slickers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital and stretch their legs in the beautiful English countryside, oh yes, and it finishes off in a local riverside pub… what more can we say!
Despite charging just £12.50 per ticket to enter, the Escape to Trail managed to raise an impressive £900.00 for their preferred charity this year, and we at IAMRUNBOX offered entrants the opportunity to win one of our brand-new run commute backpacks and donated 10% of all sales that were made under the discount code set up in support of the event.
Inspiration and Motivation for Spring/Summer
At IAMRUNBOX, we love supporting privately organised events like the Escape to Trail Charity Run, as they not only bring people together and promote active lifestyles, but they also help boost local communities and inspire us to do more, all while raising funds for local charities.
If you are thinking about setting up your own running, cycling or sporting event this summer, contact us via our Facebook Page and let us know your plans! We are happy to support anyone who wants to make a difference in their local community, after all, smart thinking, being active, taking a lead, and bringing good all leads to making the world a better place – and we can’t think of any better motivation!
