Adam Holland is a 30-year-old running enthusiast from Newark in the UK. A competitive athlete who has completed a whopping 297 marathons and ultra-marathons to date, Adam loves nothing more than pulling on his trainers and running shorts, and participating in as many running events as possible to inspire others and help raise funds for his favourite charities.
It was when Adam was still in school some 16 years ago that he developed a passion for running, and he has never looked back since. In 2015, he competed in 114 running events, and set his new Personal Best Marathon time of a rather impressive 2:27:55.
While Adam doesn’t run commute to work every day, he does admit that it is the fastest way to get to work, and describes his first run to work as “easy and great fun”. In addition to running, he also likes to play hockey and darts in his free time, and describes his other passion in life as his girlfriend!
So Why Does Adam Love to Run?
When we asked Adam why he continues to run, he said, “To help raise money for charity, to continue inspiring others, and because I'm getting faster and doing well.” With plenty of events lined up for next year, Adam will soon break through the 300-marathon mark (3rd June at the Dartmoor Discovery), and we cannot wait to help him celebrate!
When it comes to food and drink, well, Adam likes to keep it simple! His favourite dish is Macaroni & Cheese, and he likes to fuel himself after runs with a refreshing can of Coca-Cola.
